Good quality, but painfully expensive. For example, a single piece of sushi starts at $9.

Instead of Happy Hour, they call it "Snack/Tanoshi Hour"

On NFL Sundays their beers are almost half off, and already cheap anyway. Not sure what the hours for that deal really are.

Got a pint of Elysian Spacedust for $3.85, the cheapest you can find anywhere around here.

This place sucks for several reasons.

Hard to find. Completely unlabelled from the front.

Self-ordering, no wait staff. You cannot even place an order for a hamburger on the touch screen until you select the one bun being offered, which is completely unintuitive.

NO CASH ALLOWED! They require that you turn over you location and identity to the NSA just to buy a burger and a beer. So that's another good reason to never go here.

The burgers are not good. Cafeteria food.

I’m eating there now, and the food is good and plentiful.

Not a bad happy hour, only a little heavy on the fried foods.

Has a bullshit 5% surcharge supposedly for the employees, but just knock 5% off the tip to even that out.

Happy hour seating is only in certain places.
51   Patrick   2026 May 1, 4:45pm

Includes 3% bullshit charge which should be deducted from tip.

Food quality is very good!

Sadly, they fuck you with an extra 5% charge just for the joy of fucking you.

There is no excuse for such fuckery. Fail.

Decent place, I’d go back.

Wife thought inside smelled of chlorine. Out on the patio was not all that clean, but pleasant anyway.

Happy hour food was quite good. Wine pour decently large. And the do not charge a bullshit extra free lille so many other places do now!

Pleasant patio in front, but service is slow. Waitress passed us three times, finally a guy asked for our order. Took a bit over 15 minutes from sitting to getting our drinks.

Biked past this today and asked the jovial French owner if they have a happy hour I can list here. He said they do, grabbed a menu, and circled the items that are $10 during happy hour. Posted below.

He also said that the happy hour wine is house-made, and $10/glass.

The Rendezvous is the latest project from the owner of Kirk’s Steakburgers, Caffe Riace and Osteria Toscana

Fans of French bistro Pastis, a staple of Palo Alto’s Cal Ave for more than a decade before it closed in 2022, can once again enjoy its signature escargot, mussels and pate at The Rendezvous, a new bistro and wine bar on Page Mill Road.

“Half of the menu (at The Rendezvous) is what I used to do at my old restaurant,” chef Maxime Roucoule said. “Usually a wine bar is boring (because there’s) no food. So (we’re) having a lot of food, plus …. every day we have like five, six, seven specials, so the people don’t get bored.”

The Rendezvous is the latest project from restaurateur and Menlo Park resident Giuseppe Carrubba (owner of Palo Alto restaurants Kirk’s Steakburgers, Caffe Riace and Osteria Toscana, as well as San Jose spots La Foret and The GrandView) and Roucoule (whose previous experience includes Joanie’s Cafe, Pastis and La Boheme). Friends for 30 years, the pair teamed up to combine flavors from Carrubba’s Italian upbringing and Roucoule’s French roots, pairing it with a mutual love for wine.

Wife and I went there yesterday, and the home made pinot was very good. Burrata and flatbread were also good, but the mussels were a bit off. Not that had any ill effect, but they didn't taste all that fresh.

Also, there was a dead fly in my wife's glass of Italian soda. I suppose that can happen by chance, but still a bit disturbing.

In spite of my two complaints, overall the experience was good, and I'll go back.
